NYFW is well and truly underway and the C&C Team have curated their perfect weekend in NYC in honour.
Where to Stay
This luxury boutique hotel with Philippe Starck interiors feels like a home away from home. Located just south of Central Park, The Hudson is conveniently located for all sorts of exploring. With their canteen-style restaurant, Hudson Common, and the cosy Library Bar there is no need to leave the hotel for an evening but should you decide to venture further, here's our pick of what to do!
24 hours in NYC
Hail a cab and head south to start your day. You can't go wrong with breakfast at The Standard Grill with all-American classics such as a New York strip steak, blueberry pancakes or smoked salmon bagels. Top up on your coffee before venturing out into the Big Apple for a day of exploring.
From here, you are in the right spot to explore the High Line - an old industrial railroad reimagined into a community park. With events held regularly it's worth checking out their website to see if there's anything that takes your fancy or just take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the views!
Head further south still to the National Museum of the American Indian right on the southern-most tip of Manhattan. Learn about the very beginnings of America and the native communities and enjoy viewing the artefacts that they left behind. From here, you can take a short stroll north to One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Take a moment to digest the enormity of this devastating moment in American history and view the tribute created in honour of those who lost their lives.
After all that exploring, it's time to refresh and revive with a visit to Nobu. A notorious celebrity hot-spot, this is truly some of the best Japanese cuisine you will ever enjoy. They are famous for their black miso cod and the cocktail list is truly tempting too.
Time to grab a cab and head north to the Time Warner Center and treat yourself to a little retail therapy. With J Crew, Sephora and Diptyque among others, there are plenty of options to keep you busy. The C&C Team particularly love taking a ponder around Whole Foods just to oggle over the beautiful displays of fresh produce and to pick up a fresh juice to keep us hydrated.
If you've had enough of all that shopping, drop your bags at the hotel (it's just across the road) and pop back out to Central Park to enjoy a relaxing stroll. As the nation's first public park, there is plenty to see and do. The website suggests tours that will be running but personally, we enjoyed the freedom to explore on our own.
You must be feeling peckish by now? The C&C Team discovered the most delicious Italian restaurant Bocca di Bacco just a 5 minute stroll from the hotel. With it's relaxed interiors and mouth-watering food, it's the perfect place to carb load and refuel after a full day of exploring.
Fancy a night-cap? Finish off your day at the Sky Terrace on the roof-top of the hotel. With 10 sangrias to pick from and a range of cocktails you could easily while away an evening tasting them all. Now all that's left to do is hop into the lift and head back to your hotel room for a much deserved nights sleep!
