Creating a password protected note on Macbook is a very simple process. First, you need to create a note. If you want to lock an existing note, then please skip to this part.

Open Notes app on your Mac.

Click on File–>New Note to create a new note. Write down anything you want to store in that note.

To lock the note, click on ‘Lock Pad (🔒)’ icon and then ‘Lock Note‘ just like the image below.

Now, you will be shown a new menu which will ask you to fill a password and a hint for the password. After filling the details, click on ‘Set Password.’

Now, your Note is password protected.

Remember- All the notes which you choose to lock will be using the same password.

How to Remove Password from A Note

Knowing how to lock something is not enough, it is also necessary to know how to remove a lock.

if you want to remove password from a particular note, then select, the note and click on that same ‘Pad Lock(🔒)’ icon and then ‘Remove Lock.’

It will ask you to enter the password, enter the password and you are good to go.
